Everyone Needs a Bosom for a Pillow

 OK, that lyric really has nothing to do with today's post but it got your attention, right!

Btw according to my count this actually is my, for real, 300th published post.

Today, as we begin our new year, is another addition of my best of the rest.  These are lyrics I like but I don't think I'll ever get to use as a title for this cheatin' blog.  But those lyrics above actually are from a real song.  They are from the 1997 song Brimful of Asha by the Brit group Cornerstone.  The lyrics are apparently (according to wiki) a tribute to Asha Bhosle who did the voice-over on many Bollywood soundtracks.  Anyway it's a fairly catchy song that sort of just makes you feel relaxed.  The band in the video below seems pretty relaxed while they play as well.  And of course they get a reward for stating the obvious with their elegant bridge lyric "everyone needs a bosom for a pillow!"

Here Comes the Story of the Hurricane

I've really enjoy doing these best of the rest lyric quotes.  I love music and I can't get everything into the blog so this gives me a chance to show off a few things that hit me as interesting for you.  In my past two Best of the Rest posts here and here I have tried to mix and match themes.  I think the first one was a bit slanted to country the second was more eclectic with country and more 90's stuff.  Oh, and I hope you guys have been dodging those hurricanes out there so far!

Today I'm going to try to focus on oldies but goodies.  The title lyric is from an oldie but goodie.  I kind of grew up a little adult.  Most of my parent's friends were a little younger and didn't have kids.  I particularly liked this one couple who sometimes babysat when my folks were out of town.  I always enjoyed going over to their house because they had a great record collection.  I heard Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" for the first time at their house (they were from Jersey so they were big fans).  Some of the other albums/songs I remember from their house were Janis Joplin's "Take Another Piece of My Heart," the Moody Blues (my favorite was always "Legend of a Mind" about Timothy Leary), and Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 "Mas Que Nada."  Yes Gen Y and Z'ers that song was popular waaay before Rio!  And of course they were big Dylan fans, my favorites albums were "Blood on the Tracks" and "Desire," which includes the song above.

Oddly, I was having trouble finding a clip of Dylan's song "The Hurricane."  Most clips were more bios on the story.  I did find this clip which is in fact NOT Dylan.  But I love this cover with a hint of Tejas!

Hook Me Up a New Revolution 'cause this One is a Lie

So today Ryan is out of ideas for a post so that means it's time for another best of the rest music lyric quotes.  If you don't know what I'm talking about here is the first time I did this.  Well, I'm not really out of ideas, I have plenty of entries written I just don't want to post them today.

Tempting Sweets, are you ready?  One of them is somewhat of a trick, it's a bit obscure.

So first quote is at the top who wrote it?  Btw, best concert I have ever seen pound for pound was that group opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, can you say AWESOME!  Backstage was interesting to but I won't talk about it here today.

Sorry, just in case you were clapping I'm not saying goodbye these lyrics just fit because they are to that Stadium rock song we all know but don't know the name.

I have said before I am a total sports geek.  I am at my most geekish when I am watching ESPN Classic.  It has become somewhat of a joke at the Beaumont home when I am asked by Shannon "is that a current game or some old game."

Actually ESPN Classic is a very good way to live life.  My favorite team played in the BCS Championship a few years ago.  They got behind early but came back and got ahead early in the 4th quarter.  At that point they got tired and ended up losing.  I was at the game and left dejected.  But when the game is on ESPN classic I just turn the TV off after they score that go ahead TD!  Maybe a good philosophy in life, when things are at the best just stop and move onto something else.

So as usual what does this have to do with anything.  Well, one of my favorite shows on ESPN Classic is the Top 5 Reasons.  The show tracks the 5 reasons why some controversal thing happened.  For example "The Top 5 Reasons Ryan Never Played Basketball at Duke."  Those might include #5 he's only 6' tall, #4 he's slow, #3 800 SAT don't get you into Duke, #2 Ryan looks better in fall colors, #1 Duke is Puke!

Additionally on that show they have a "best of the rest" or reasons that didn't make the cut.  So a few months ago as I was collecting lyrics to put into my blog I also started collecting some of my favorite lyrics that probably wouldn't fit into a sex blog.

So here is "Ryan's Best of the Rest."  Great lyrics that are great but may not fit into this blog.
